Rare Timex Olympic Games Watch - with original box and papers
This incredibly rare vintage Timex Q watch was manufactured in 1977, one year after the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics. As the dial features the USA's Olympic shield logo, this was an early production for the later 1980 USA Olympic games. However the United States boycotted the 1980 Olympics that year to protest the Soviet Union invasion of Afghanistan.
This watch has a chrome-plated case and uses a hidden lug design. The case has a sunburst brushed pattern on the surface. The crystal is domed acrylic. The dial is silver with embossed chromed mastic markings and a printed seconds track. Also embossed are the words Q, Timex, and Quartz. Printed at the bottom of the dial is the word Taiwan which identifies the place of manufacture. The left of the center point contains the Olympic rings and red stripes in the USA Olympic shield.
This Olympic Timex Q has a day date complication with these windows having a black printed border. The hands are chromed stick hands.
