“I am excited to announce that the next Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation live watch auction will be held with Christie’s Watch Department on December 9, 2024 in New York City.  This is truly a watch auction for all of us with all the proceeds from the hammer price going to support scholarships around the world. The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation was created to honor the memory of Brian, who passed away in a swimming accident when he was 15. Brian's father and mother - Doug and Renee (plus his sister Kim) - decided to honor his memory by creating a foundation that would provide scholarships to students around the world. Since its creation, they have given over 1000 scholarships and this 501(c)(3) based in Green Bay, WI, not far from where I was born and grew up, has a four-star rating from Charity Navigator - the highest possible rating.

In addition to donating an unpolished Rolex Date just reference 1601 with black “confetti” dial that you can see here, we have already received a number of great watch donations and would love to have you participate! We discussed it on the latest episode (#13) of The Vintage Watch Podcast and Hodinkee’s Radio Podcast with Tony Traina.
