Bill Welter was known for being the driving force behind the one of the most memorable advertising campaigns, ‘Where’s the Beef?’ for Wendy’s, but he accomplished so much more during his life. Bill was in Marketing for much of his career life.  He earned three CLIO international marketing awards and has chartered new avenues of promotion and public relation success which are held as the benchmarks in today’s competitive restaurant market.

Bill was also the founder of Santa Silent Helpers and was actively involved in his church and other community efforts, including the Door County Human Society, the Third Avenue Playhouse Board in Sturgeon Bay and also served on the Board of an internet start-up, Celebrating Legacy. He was a driving force as a member of the Brian LaViolette advisory board.

In his spare time, Bill loved playing golf ,gardening, fishing and spending time with his wife, Pam and their children and grandchildren.

Sadly, Bill passed away on December 21, 2022. You can read a tribute about him by Doug LaViolette here.
