Bulova’s most famous Art Deco design of the 1920s, the “Lone Eagle” has stylized eagle heads set in hard black enamel in each corner. Originally introduced around 1926 as the “Conqueror,” this model was renamed the “Lone Eagle” for Charles Lindbergh following his historic solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean in May of 1927. Lindbergh personally endorsed the watch and advertisements for the watch featured Lindbergh and his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis, quite prominently along with his testimonial. This example features black enamel inlay and a hinged caseback. It is powered by the17-jewel Bulova grade 9AT manual-wind movement that was recently serviced. Further enhancing the lot and adding to its story, the lot will include: - A Spirit of St. Louis brooch - Treasures collected during this iconic period, including an original article written by Charles Lindbergh and published in The New York Times on July 23, 1927. - A rare edition of The Story of Lindbergh, The Lone Eagle by Richard J. Beamish - A solid bronze Charles A. Lindbergh Medal of Congress: a remarkable piece once made available to the public.

The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation would like to thank Bryan Girouard of Art Deco Wristwatches for his generous donation

We are also excited to present an exceptional collection in addition to the Bulova Lone Eagle watch. This unique lot will feature:

- A Spirit of St. Louis brooch, generously donated by Bryan Girouard, symbolizing the pioneering spirit of Charles Lindbergh’s historic flight.

- Treasures collected during this iconic period, including an original article written by Charles Lindbergh himself, published in The New York Times on July 23, 1927.

- A rare edition of The Story of Lindbergh, The Lone Eagle by Richard J. Beamish, capturing the essence of Lindbergh’s extraordinary achievement.

- A solid bronze Charles A. Lindbergh Medal of Congress: a remarkable piece once made available to the public, further honoring the legacy of this American hero.

This lot brings together significant artifacts from Lindbergh's historic journey, each carrying the weight of history and a timeless spirit of adventure.
