David Hatfield Scholarship of Honor
David Hatfield graduated from Tunstall High School in Dry Fork, Virginia. He joined the Marines in 1991 and had a decorated career as a Marine.
Hatfield earned the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon and many campaign, unit and service distinctions.
Hatfield served in Iraq in 2006 and 2008 and was a former drill instructor. He was stationed at Camp Le-jeune, N.C., before his deployment and was promoted to master sergeant in 2007.
He had two sons and a daughter with his wife, Angela.
