Anchors away!
On November 30, 1976, a Sailor aboard the USS Nimitz purchased this remarkable timepiece from the ship’s store during its maiden voyage in the Mediterranean. The watch remained in his family until now.
This authentic vintage Tudor Oysterdate carries a unique legacy. Meticulously serviced by Justin Harrell, a graduate of the prestigious Rolex Technicum School in Lititz, Pennsylvania, this rare timepiece is in exceptional condition.
Crafted in Switzerland, the watch features a 34mm round silver case with a silver bezel and a classic silver dial, exuding timeless elegance. Its self-winding caliber movement, along with a Quick Set date function at the 3 o’clock position, enhances both its functionality and appeal to collectors.
The original stainless steel Oyster bracelet further complements the refined design, while the inclusion of the original box and papers elevates its collectability.
This Tudor Montres model is more than just a luxury dress watch—it’s a piece of Naval and horological history.
Thanks to the generosity of The Watch Maker’s Shop in Asheville, North Carolina, this distinguished timepiece is a part of the 2024 Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation Watch Auction.
