This very cool watch was purchased by a young US Army soldier in Vietnam on New Year’s Eve December 31, 1968.

After returning stateside, the watch was carefully preserved and comes with the original box and all papers, including its original receipt. Please read the whole story here.

The watch comes with an original issue of the Stars & Stripes which was published on the same day that the watch was purchased. The military newspaper’s front page story features an image of the very first “EarthRise”, captured by the astronauts of Apollo 8 a week earlier on Christmas Eve when they became the the first people to orbit the moon.
