Worn by Michael Kelly in the 3rd and 4th seasons of the Jack Ryan TV series, this Vortic pocket watch conversion is one of the the second iteration of the Military Edition, a set of 50 wristwatches built from very special antique American pocket watches.

Originally a Master Navigator pocket watch, this Military Edition timepiece is truly a piece of American history. The original antique pocket watch movement was manufactured for the US Army Air Corps by the Hamilton Watch Company of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and used by navigators aboard B17s and other bomber aircraft during World War II.

History is once again being made as Vortic Watch Company in Fort Collins, Colorado has brought this incredible pocket watch back to life, now as a wristwatch. Almost 80 years after its original use, the master watchmakers at Vortic have painstakingly rebuilt the pocket watch movement and then precision-machined the wristwatch case from the highest grade US steel and titanium.

It seems fitting that this watch was worn by Kelly, one of Hollywood’s leading men, who plays the “good guy” as CIA Special Agent in the series Jack Ryan. The watch was featured in dozens of action-packed scenes, even leaving marks on the watch case and sweat stains on the leather band as proof.

Not to worry, if you are the lucky winning bidder, it has been completely serviced by Vortic’s craftsmen and is ready for you to write your own history for decades to come—if you dare to wear it. This watch not only represents the past, but it also will support a new generation of students.
