Founded in 1858 by Jacque Ditisheim and his sons in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, Vulcain is renowned for its innovation in watchmaking, including the creation of the Cricket in 1947, the first alarm wristwatch. Vulcain's rich history includes a unique connection to the White House, where the Cricket became known as the "President's Watch" after Harry S. Truman received one, a tradition that has continued with every sitting U.S. President since.
