What does this scholarship mean to you?

We think our 2022 scholarship recipients say it best…

“Words truly cannot describe how much this scholarship meant to me. When I first read about Riley's story, I knew right away that he had similar experiences to what I did growing up. Being exposed to addiction and domestic violence is not something that everyone is exposed to, but it is truly my inspiration for my career choice.

I am going on to get my degree in clinical counseling psychology with the goal to help people that are in the same position as Riley or me. It meant so much to me that I was awarded this scholarship because it proved to me that others saw in me what I see in myself.”

“I would just like to thank you for awarding me for the Thomas Hudner Scholarship of Honor. I am very honored to be representative of Thomas Hudner and everything that he exemplified during his lifetime.

I am thankful for the support from this scholarship and am excited to use it in pursue of my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. I hope to make a big impact on all those that I work with as a Nurse once I graduate college, just as Captain Hudner's impact on his fellow pilot.

Thank you once again for such an amazing opportunity for me and those Civil Air Patrol cadets before me and after me.

“This scholarship means a great deal of honor for me and to wear the Scholarship of  Honor proudly at graduation and to keep this medal is amazing.  Isaiah made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, I feel honored to have received this and wear it.”

I am excited for what opportunities this scholarship allows me to pursue and that it helps me further learn, which is my passion in life. “

“Nearing the end of the school year, I was looking at different military options because I knew I couldn’t really afford college.  But after receiving the Brent Vroman Scholarship of Honor, I knew I was doing both.

This scholarship means the world to me.  It allowed me to pursue my dream and find a way to serve my country while honoring the memory of someone close to my family, and my community.”

“It was also an incredible feeling to hear my name called for the Sal Giunta Scholarship of Honor. I cannot be thankful enough for your support of me on my road to completing my dream. I hope I will be able to pay it forward someday.

After I finish my paramedic, I plan on getting my critical care paramedic, and from there the sky's the limit.”
